OUR CURRENT MISSION
Our mission for the 2019-20 school year will take place during spring break, March 7-14. The mission will be led by Fr. Michael Mitchell LC, along with other Mission Youth staff. Mount Michael staff participants will be Mr. Dave Cormier and Mr. Eric Westra.
Our informational meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 25 at 7 PM in the DJ Sokol Building study hall. All interested juniors and seniors, along with their parents, are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting. Note that all participants must be at least 16 years old by the time of the trip.
Expected cost for participants (due for both students and fathers):
Fee to Mission Youth: $695 ($50 deposit in the fall, balance due in January)
Airfare: Still unsure, but probably $800-$900
The group will be returning to a village called La Cima. This is near the town of Ahuazotepec, approximately two hours northeast of Mexico City near the border between the states of Puebla and Hidalgo. This map shows the location of the chapel in La Cima where we celebrate daily Mass with the community. The auditorium where we sleep is about a quarter of a mile to the southwest. If you click on the Google logo in the lower left corner, you will be taken to the Google Maps site and will be able to zoom in and out as well as see the satellite view of the village.
